Psalms 86

A Psalm of Supplication and Trust.

A Prayer of David.

1 aIncline Your ear, O Lord, and answer me;
For I am bafflicted and needy.
2 cPreserve my
Or life
soul, for I am a egodly man;
O You my God, save Your servant who ftrusts in You.
3Be ggracious to me, O Lord,
For hto You I cry all day long.
4Make glad the soul of Your servant,
For to You, O Lord, iI lift up my soul.
5For You, Lord, are jgood, and kready to forgive,
And labundant in lovingkindness to all who call upon You.
6 mGive ear, O Lord, to my prayer;
And give heed to the voice of my supplications!
7In nthe day of my trouble I shall call upon You,
For oYou will answer me.
8There is pno one like You among the gods, O Lord,
Nor are there any works qlike Yours.
9 rAll nations whom You have made shall come and worship before You, O Lord,
And they shall glorify Your name.
10For You are sgreat and tdo
Or miracles
wondrous deeds;
You alone vare God.

11 wTeach me Your way, O Lord;
I will walk in Your truth;
xUnite my heart to fear Your name.
12I will ygive thanks to You, O Lord my God, with all my heart,
And will glorify Your name forever.
13For Your lovingkindness toward me is great,
And You have zdelivered my soul from the
Lit lowest Sheol
depths of
I.e. the nether world
Sheol.

14O God, arrogant men have acrisen up against me,
And
Or an assembly
a band of violent men have sought my
Lit soul
life,
And they have not set You before them.
15But You, O Lord, are a God afmerciful and gracious,
Slow to anger and abundant in lovingkindness and
Or faithfulness
truth.
16 ahTurn to me, and be gracious to me;
Oh aigrant Your strength to Your servant,
And save the ajson of Your handmaid.
17 akShow me a sign for good,
That those who hate me may alsee it and be ashamed,
Because You, O Lord, amhave helped me and comforted me.
